I have been at FSP for a little over a year as Marketing & Communications Executive. Before working at FSP, I worked in PR and studied Fashion Promotion & Communication.

I never believed I would work in the tech industry, until Tim Ebenezer, Chief Operating Officer, reached out to me in search of a Marketing Executive. I was sceptical because I knew nothing about tech. However, everyone around me that had heard of FSP including a family member who had previously worked with Tim, had full confidence that this organisation would support me wholeheartedly. And that they did. In fact, they’ve exceeded expectations.

My role as a Marketing & Communications Executive

When I joined, my role had a lot of potential…looking back, even more so than I could have foreseen. Being the first Marketing & Communications Executive, I had the freedom and constant empowerment from my colleagues to make the absolute most of my new role. In the last year, I have been involved in so many new projects that have enabled me to grow as a person, more than I had in my life up to this point. I have learnt an abundance of new skills, but more importantly, learnt from those around me at FSP, how to be a better person. I can say with full confidence, that I am surrounded by a group of incredible, talented people. I am constantly challenged by my peers, because I know they want me improve, not because they want me to fail. In my day-to-day role, I run FSP’s social media accounts, organise external events and focus on building our external PR presence. Beyond the job description, I have been involved in our Diversity and Inclusion efforts and supported with charitable work. Also working closely with our People & Engagement team on internal comms, most significantly, setting up our FSP internal podcast channel, which launched with great success during lockdown.

I never thought I’d end up in tech, but I’m a strong believer that things happen for a reason and I am incredibly lucky that my journey has led me here!
